Synopsis

Experimental | Sweden

Mona is a Swedish woman in her mid 40s. The camera will follow a day in her life, showing how an unexpected event will drastically change her existence.

An artsy short film that borders on genre films and try to explore territories of other expressive forms, produced by Stockholms Filmskola, based on a screenplay by Sara Key (also playing the protagonist role) and directed by the Sicilian expat Francesco Emmola.

SASHIMI it’s a small reflection on the limits of State Individualism, a project carried out since the 70s by the Swedish government. Secularization and rituality, loneliness and sacrifice, Eastern and Western habits are some of the main themes that short-circuit in this story.
